Hidden Curriculum of Medical School

Anna Lank of C3NY sent along the following article on the "Hidden Curriculum of Medical School" from the New York Times. In Dr. Chen's ongoing column, she explores a number of issues surrounding medical education, and while she doesn't directly mention Standardized Patients as one of the ways that 'bedside manner' is taught, this column touches directly on our main goals with this methodology.

I found the comments (I've read only the first 20 or so posted) interesting -- it seems that some readers interpreted "hidden" to mean that bedside manner isn't directly taught during medical school. Makes me wonder if we shouldn't ask Dr. Chen for a follow-up column detailing some of the many ways we do!
